Anthony Running Wolf Late-30s, Native American. Anthony grew up on the Moteca Reservation in Kansas. Was a star athlete in high school. While in high school, his parents were “accidentally” killed on the reservation and he was raised by his grandmother. Anthony couldn’t wait to “escape” from the reservation and he went away to college. Worked his way up to a prestigious trading job with a Wall Street firm in New York. Before returning for his sister Joni’s funeral, Anthony had not been back to his reservation since leaving 20 years ago.

Nathaniel is Plains Cree (Nehiyaw) from the Alexander First Nation Reserve. He has appeared in numerous films, including Into The West, Black Cloud, and Dreamkeeper. He recently played the lead role of Tonto in the television pilot The Lone Ranger, making him the youngest Tonto in history. Granny
70s, Native American. A respected elder who has lived her entire life on the reservation. She’s Anthony’s grandmother who raised him and his sister Joni after their parents were killed on the reservation. Granny has seen many changes on the reservation, most notable being the opening of a small but successful Indian casino. Granny wants to make sure revenue generated by the casino flows to the proper needs of the tribe.

Tantoo Cardinal, from the Métis Tribe, is the most recognized North American Native actress. World-renowned and a recipient of numerous awards, she has been in over 50 films, including Dances With Wolves, Black Robe, Legends of the Fall, and Smoke Signals. Tantoo, playing Granny, will radically alter the stereotypical image of Native Elders. 


Bobby Newsome
Mid-30s, white. General Manager of the Moteca reservation Indian Casino. Previous experience operating a small Indian Casino in Montana but he impressed the Moteca Tribal Council who hired him. His deal is 2% of gross. Although the Moteca Indian Casino is financially successful, he envisions the tribe opening an enormous “off-reservation” casino in a nearby big city to in order to increase his income.



Terra Mid
30s, Native American. Terra grew up on the Moteca Reservation and is now the head of the Reservation Police. In high school was the head cheerleader who dated Anthony but she has, to put it politely, neglected her physical condition over the years.

Kimberly Norris-Guerrero, a member of the Colville Confederated Tribes of Washington State and also Salish-Kootenai and Cherokee, is a graduate of UCLA and an award-winning actress.  She has appeared in numerous film and television projects, including Hidalgo, The Sopranos, Dreamkeeper, Walker, Texas Ranger, and As The World Turns.  She is most recognized as playing Jerry’s girlfriend on the popular Seinfeld episode “The Cigar Store Indian.”


Martin
Mid 60s, Native American. Respected elder and Tribal Council member. Granny’s close companion.

Michael Horse, of Yaqui, Mescalero Apache, Zuni, European and Hispanic descent, is a jeweler, actor, stunt man, sculptor, painter and activist. As an actor, he has appeared in many movies and on television, including Twin Peaks, Passenger 57, Lakota Woman, and the CBC Canadian series, North of 60. Michael’s jewelry, carvings, and paintings have been exhibited at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, DC.


Sonny Lehman
Late 30s, white. Sonny is a gaming lobbyist representing several Indian Casinos in the area, including Moteca. Sonny helped Moteca become the first Indian Casino in Kansas. He had a close working relationship with Joni.

Kevin Geer’s celebrated acting career includes appearances in feature film, television, and theater.  His film credits include The Pelican Brief, Arrowshot (Sundance Film Festival), and The Contender. On Broadway, he co-starred in the recent highly acclaimed staging of Twelve Angry Men and A Streetcar Named Desire.  On television, Kevin has appeared on Oz, Law & Order, Homicide, China Beach, M.A.S.H. and the TV film Sweet Bird Of Youth opposite Elizabeth Taylor.


Chip
Late 20s, Native American. Chip is the techno-geek for the Moteca Indian Casino. Chip works very closely with Bobby on gaming compliance issues. Chip is highly secretive and suspicious of outsiders. To say he’s paranoid would be a gross understatement.

Sammy Espinoza, half Luiseno/Digueno Indian of Southern California and half Dine of Gallop, New Mexico, has performed with the respected Los Angeles theater company Native Voices, where he played the part of Nicolas in Keno and Teresa (a Native American version of Romeo and Juliet.)  Sammy has also just finished acting in the indie film Blood Money.


Joni Running Wolf
Mid 30s, Native American. Joni, Anthony’s sister, never left the reservation and worked in the reservation casino. Joni had a strong moral compass and only wanted what was best for the tribe. She was going to run for the Tribal Council. She was a great believer in Native sovereignty.

Princess Lucaj is Gwich’in Athabascan from Alaska.  Her television and film credits include Jericho (CBS Pilot), Massacre at Mystic (THC), We Are Still Here, Ghost Town, and Lynx. She recently wrote, directed, and acted in the short film Pow Wow Dreams.


Jeff Greenfield
Shomano Casino Manager. Played football against Anthony in high school. Stayed on the reservation.

Noah Watts, a member of the Crow Tribe and a descendant of the Blackfeet Nation, has acted in the feature films The Slaughter Rule, and Skins, and just finished his latest roll in the movie North Star. Noah has also appeared in the TV movie Skinwalkers.


Mr. Hanada
Late 30s, Korean. Hanada is the head of a foreign management group that operates the nearby competing Grass River Indian Casino. Unlike Bobby Newsome’s arrangement with the Moteca, Hanada’s management group collects 25% of the gross. The Grass River Casino is also vying to open a huge “off-reservation” Indian Casino to increase revenues.
